Unusual Times, Unusual Grief
In the wake of what’s happening in the world around us, we understand that grieving the loss of a loved one is likely even more difficult – and certainly more unusual. It’s so hard being separated from those who might normally support us in-person; not having traditional services and rituals that often help us through; and potentially living alone, in complete isolation. Then you add the barrage of news coverage and panic that seems to be happening in many places. Having all these things – and more, layer on top of the pain of losing a loved one can make us feel overwhelmed.
We have created four new videos we hope might provide some words of reassurance and some tips and techniques to help you cope with your grief, especially during these unusual times. Each video is around 5-minutes long and offers a variety of resources you might find helpful. Check out our other resources on this page as well.

Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough & Community Grief Support Groups
Our grief support groups are designed to provide you support after the loss of someone important to you. Grieving is a uniquely personal experience and many people find comfort, hope and strength by coming together with others to remember loved ones.
These groups are open to those who were under the care of Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough and members of our community who have experienced a loss. The groups are generally six weeks long and are facilitated by trained and experienced counselors. Registration is required.
We also provide educational workshops at various times during the year.
Please note: We recommend that you allow yourself at least three months after the death of your loved one before attending a grief support group. Often times it can be difficult to take in other people’s losses when you are in the early stages of grief. We offer individual grief counseling at any time throughout your grief journey.
Click here for a calendar of group listings or call (727) 523-3455 for information and offerings.
