How long does it take after you open your eyes on Monday mornings before your mind is flooded with all of the many tasks and challenges that your day holds? Five minutes? Two minutes? Ten seconds? For many of us it isn’t long before we begin to feel the weight of the day pressing on us, and it makes it all that much harder to extract ourselves from the warm refuge of our comfortable beds. I ran across a saying recently in the Huffington Post that suggests a different approach:
Wake up every morning
With the thought
That something wonderful
Is about to happen.
What a different way to enter the flow of a new week. Instead of trudging out the door with resignation and dread, we start our day curious and receptive to the gifts that our lives so generously lay before us when we open our hearts and our hands to receive them.
Wishing wonderful things for you today. Have a great week, everyone!
