One of the blessings of working for an organization which serves those who are seriously ill is that we are not sheltered, as much of our culture is, from the reality of sickness and death. This is a blessing because it can shake us out of our complacency and motivate us to savor the moments, to take the risk, to heal the broken relationship, and to not take things for granted.
This awareness that life is impermanent invites us to ask with Mary Oliver, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Today is a new day. Let’s make the most of it! Have a great week, everyone.
