There are so many things to remember…
Take out the trash before you leave for work, we are all out of milk, there’s the meeting at 9:00, and the deadline on that project we are working on, and oh my gosh I can’t forget that it is my friend’s birthday, and I really need to get my taxes done . . . and the list goes on.
At any given moment on any given day, our minds are swirling with a maelstrom of details and things to do.
As a matter of fact, if we’re not careful these details can consume all of our available “headspace” and not leave room for anything else.
Kent Nerburn, an American author hits the nail on the head,
Something precious is lost
If we rush headlong
Into the details of life
Without pausing for a moment
To pay homage to the mystery of life
And the gift of another day.
So before we get too caught up in the urgency or our day, let’s just pause for a moment. A moment of stillness and gratitude where we acknowledge our blessings and commit ourselves to savoring the unspeakable gift that unfolds before us.
Have a great week, everyone!
