There is something that we are all celebrating. During this holiday season, there is something that joins all of us in a common bond. Something that is underneath and beyond the tinsel and the candles and the presents and the tables brimming with delectable delicacies.
Whatever our religious affiliation or our spiritual tradition or practices, there is a spirit of hope in the air. Hope that we will be able to mend broken relationships, conquer old habits, build a better community, envision a world of peace and justice. Hope that we will rise to the challenge and realize our full potential. And this hope sustains us and inspires us and brings us great joy.
