We're proud to share that we've earned the Service Enterprise Accreditation from the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE). For organizations like ours, volunteers aren't just helpful. They're essential. They sit with patients, support families, honor veterans, help behind the scenes and bring comfort during some of life's most difficult moments. We couldn't do this work without them. This accreditation recognizes the years of work our Volunteer Services teams across Florida have put into strengthening how we recruit, train, support and recognize volunteers. We're grateful to AL!VE for this recognition and even more grateful for the dedicated team members and volunteers who help carry our mission forward every day. If you've been looking for somewhere to volunteer where you'll really make a difference, we'd love to tell you about all the opportunities we have for adults and teens. We're proud to share that we received two Awards of Excellence from the Florida Hospice & Palliative Care Association. One award recognizes the extraordinary work of Deangelis Brandon, LCSW, an Empath Suncoast Hospice social worker who has spent nearly 30 years supporting patients and families through some of life's most difficult moments. The other recognizes our End-of-Life Doula Program, where specially trained volunteers provide companionship, support and a comforting presence for patients and loved ones. We're grateful for the people behind this work and the difference they make every day. Read more: empathhealth.org/blog/empath-health-fhpca-awards-excellence ... See MoreSee Less

September is National PACE Month and we're proud to celebrate Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly across the country. Our PACE program is called Empath LIFE. The program helps seniors in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties stay independent and age in place. Dr. Nick Joseph walks through the Empath LIFE center and shows how the PACE model of care works day to day. ... See MoreSee Less
